Pink Gingham and Mismatched Tie {Simplicity 1699 & Simplicity 1200}
Kimberly requested this sewing project to wear to a wedding…and ended up wearing it in her engagement photos too! (Yes, I’m sharing another old project…)
But…
It’s one of my favorite Pinterest recreates!
The fabric was an amazing Thrift Store Score for $3! It was over 5 yards too! What a steal!
The blouse and skirt is fully lined with a vintage white sheet. The collar was made from the same sheet too!
I don’t enjoy sewing hook ‘n’ eyes on garments and forgot to lengthen the waistband to accommodate a button. I attempted to rectify the issue by sewing a button tab to cover the space and hold the waistband shut…yep…ummm…not the best idea and actually it never stayed on. Not the best fix and it’s got me thinking on different ways I could correct it…probably just remember to extend the waistband! ;)
You may recognize the patterns from Marigold Wool because both the blouse and skirt pattern was used for that ensemble as well.
Aren’t they the cutest!
Smiles!
