My Christmas Playlist: Part 3
30 minutes of Christmas music — collected and curated by TaMera
Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee
This song is a classic! The fun upbeat, rock ‘n’roll style makes me want to dance.
Last Christmas by Wham!
Yes, this song is both Jewel’s and my own favorite Christmas song.
(It is kind of depressing when you really listen to the lyrics but somehow it also plays on your heartstrings.)
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) by Michael Buble
Just a great song I like to sing along with when I hear it on the radio. Of course, it helps Michael Buble sings it so well with his fantastic voice.
Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms
It just reminds you of Christmas past and memories you hold from them. …Also, see Rocking Around The Christmas Tree description above.
White Christmas by Bing Crosby
One of my favorite Christmas movies is White Christmas and it has the sweetest moment / ending of probably any movie ever.
Carol of the Bells by Kolner Jugendchor St. Stephan
Added this song because of the choir with its incredible musical and vocal arrangement and overall perfection.
Silver Bells by Sammy Kaye
Ahhh…classic big band. Just listen to the brass and the beautiful tones that overwhelm in this version! Love it.
It’s a Marshmallow World by Jo Stafford
It’s a Marshmallow World is such a quirky song and that’s the reason I enjoy it!
Silent Night, H. 145 (Arr. for Chamber Ensemble) by Franz Xaver Gruber
Listen to that beautiful classical guitar accenting with the violin.
Tchaikovsky: The Nutcracker, Op/ 71, Act 2: No. 14b Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Pyotr Llyich Tchaikovsky
Well, let’s talk about this song. Technically not a Christmas song but everyone associates Christmas with it when they hear this song. Maybe it’s the Nutcracker or maybe it’s the winter feelings. But this song may forever be associated with Christmas.
This piece of music and the entire ballet rather, was written by my favorite composer: Tchaikovsky.
Fur Elise by Vince Guaraldi Trio
Another non-Christmas song but this one made the cut because it is in my favorite, favorite Christmas film: A Charlie Brown Christmas. I purchased the DVD as a child and I have never regretted it. It is now tradition to watch it multiple times with my niece and nephew.
Hark, The Herald Angels Sing by Vince Guaraldi Trio
I just love choirs and the boys choir featured on this song is spectacular. It’s one of my favorite parts of the film, all the characters are gathered around Charlie Brown’s sad Christmas tree singing Christmas carols. The moment makes me want to cry tears of joy as you see the characters remember the true meaning of Christmas.
