McCalls 6953
Here is one of my Construction 2 class projects. It’s a McCall’s pattern and they were testing our skills on princess seams, linings and pleats.
The fabric was from the stash and I’m pretty sure it was from my Grandmother’s stash originally. I used it because we needed a bottom weight fabric and this one worked! I wasn’t so hot about the fabric starting out the project and was just using it to save money but now I really love it. I reach for this dress so often!
I did have to purchase the lining because we were supposed to use a specific type of polyester lining and I didn’t have that in my small stash of fabric at the apartment.
We could use any type of hem we preferred and I chose to use the Industrial Blind Hem machine. Once you get the hang of controlling the speed, it’s a really quick hem for skirts and jackets alike. I especially love it with bold prints since you can’t see the stitch.
